After a long time, Panasonic launches a new smartphone under its Eluga series in India. The smartphone goes by the name Panasonic Eluga Ray 810. The Eluga Ray 810 looks slightly expensive for the value it provides. The Panasonic Eluga Ray 810 comes with a price tag of Rs 16,990. It is already available for grabs in the country exclusively via Flipkart. The Eluga Ray 810 comes in two colours — Starry Black and Turquoise Blue.
Currently, the under Rs 20,000 price segment is very crowded in India. There are several good phones from various smartphone manufacturers. This price segment includes the newly launched Redmi Note 8 Pro as well. The Redmi Note 8 Pro is selling in India at a starting price of Rs 14,999. The question here is will Panasonic Eluga Ray 810 able to compete with the Note 8 Pro? Well, this only time will say but on paper the Redmi Note 8 Pro looks pretty powerful with four rear cameras, 64MP main shooter, MediaTek G90T chip, 4500mah battery, 18W fast charging support in box and more.
Let’s take a quick look at what Panasonic brings to the consumers with the all-new Eluga Ray 810?
The smartphone comes in only one variant. It packs 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Eluga Ray 810 allows users to expand the storage via microSD card up to 128GB storage. The Panasonic Eluga Ray 810 brings a 6.19-inch display with wide iPhone X like notch – now that’s un-usual to see these days as phones mostly come with waterdrop notch style notch or no notch at all. The wide notch on the front includes selfie camera and LED flash. The soft LED flash on the front helps click well-lit selfies in low-light. The bezels on this phone are minimal which is great.
The Panasonic Eluga Ray 810 includes two cameras on the back panel – a 16-megapixel main sensor and 2-megapixel depth sensor that is responsible for capturing portrait shots. On the front there’s a 16-megapixel for clicking selfies. For the Eluga Ray 810 Panasonic opts for a MediaTek chip. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The phone is backed by a 4000mAh battery.
On the software front the Panasonic phone runs Android Pie OS. There’s no word whether the smartphone will be upgraded to the Android 10 software or not. The phone also includes rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It comes with include accelerometer, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor.
Overall the Panasonic Eluga Ray 810 appears to be a decent smartphone but the price of the phone could have been slightly cheaper considering the competition is tough in this segment in India.
